US NRI group calls out Indian government

Deeply affected by the inhumane conditions of prisoners and their families in Pakistani jails has moved the North American Punjabi Association to urge the Punjabi government to undertake reforms in the prison system. The California based NRI association also recommended that these cases be taken up in the Union ministry of external affairs.

NAPA had used the case of alleged Indian spy Gopal Dass, whose sentence was commuted by Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari a couple of years back, claims that these cases have set a bad example for Indian youth in choosing to work for the intelligence agencies of the country.
