As history proves true, there were many Indian nationals from the sub-continent that have made their way through the French territories, eventually settling down in Guadeloupe and Reunion Island. Despite being removed from the homeland for over a century, many French nationals of Indian descent have recognized their roots and continue to celebrate their traditions.
Regretfully, despite these clear celebrations of Indian nationality and personality, these French-Indians are not recognized under the category of Persons of Indian Origin by the Indian government. Now, many are clamoring for this recognition. [click to continue…]
