In the US pay usually depends on what area of the country you live.
California and New York would be the highest paying areas in most types of employment.

To get a good idea of possible salaries I would suggest searching the classified adds in some of the local online news papers.

Sorry I really would have no idea of a salary range. Again, it would be best to search the classified/help wanted section of several online newspapers in the states. Or possibly contact a company directly by email.

That is very true. It's been too many years since I lived in the states also to give much of a guess on salaries in any field. I would again suggest to the original poster of this thread to visit the online newspapers for where he might like to live. There should be job postings on a daily basis and most will list the wage or salary.
A good place to start might be the Los Angeles Times and they are located at: Los Angeles Times - California, national and world news - latimes.com
