The Canadian Federal Government will announce new rules on Monday to put a stop to the practice of employers using the temporary worker programme to avoid hiring Canadians. This comes after two highly controversial cases came to fore that placed the whole program under scrutiny and review.
A news conference is scheduled for Monday afternoon and in attendance would be Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney and Human Resources Minister Diane Finley. The purpose of the news conference is to announce reforms in the program, where the Conservative government was to present these new changes to Parliament when the budget implementation bill is discussed on the floor on Monday.
